Product says can be used inside and outside. Deceiving on the outside use. Directions inside box gave full details. One, it has to be put in a location where it can\’t get wet. You have to use the AC adaptor that comes with it. Instructions say don\’t use AC adaptor where it can get wet. Pretty well elminates most uses outside. How many people have places outside where a rain storm wouldn\’t get it wet, if you have to have it within 10 feet of area being viewed at night. How many people have an outlet close by to plug in the AC adaptor where it won\’t get wet.Night vision is a joke. Mostly a blur. Tried using it aiming it out a window and that does not work at all. Turned it around to see how it would work in the house, and that was just as bad. Mostly a big blur. Could not see anything moving. I am returning the product today.

The biggest thing you should not have the receiver more than 75 ft or so from camera. I have mine 2 rooms over and picks up ok. The picture is great and the audio is even better. I have not mounted one outside yet but had it setting outside window shelf with screen up. It sounded like the outdoors came alive hooked up to my stereo. You cant have anything in front of lens even glass at night because of the infrared bounces off and blurrs pic. Its not water proof so it would have to go under a porch. I thought about an overhang but not sure. It gets realy hot but Ive read that the infrared ones do. The reception is getting worse outside so I\’m going to buy a new sma cable they are smaller for the receiver and run the antenna. I put a regular coaxil cable in it and could tell the reception got better. They make sma antennas too. I expect the reception is going to increase dramatically. Hope this helps. GE should do this for better sales.
